Planting native trees in Australia to offset our carbon emissions

At STOV, we are more than just a brand that sells an innovative portable BBQ. We are a business that is committed to a better future. Sustainability is a crucial part of everything we do. We believe in doing business responsibly, leaving the world in a better condition than we found it. While we try to reduce our emissions in the first place, for the emissions that we cannot avoid right now, we take pride in offsetting all our carbon emissions for example from: 

• Production and material sourcing (Scope 2 emissions)
• Freight
• Shipping to customers
• Operations 
• Scope 3 emissions (such as gas usage for the STOV BBQ of customers)

Some of these emissions are already offset by our partners such as Australia Post and Sendle but we will still cover these emissions again ourselves. 

These emissions are offset with GreenFleet, an Australian non for profit that has been operating for over 25 years, by planting native trees and revegetating areas here in Australia and thus also supporting our native wildlife. Check out the full list of their projects here. 

In order to reduce resources used and used, we work with our suppliers to reduce waste (e.g. packaging) and we make sure our packaging comes from recycled sources (e.g. all our packaging for the STOV BBQ is paper and cardboard).

As a business we believe it is the bare minimum to offset our carbon emissions, reduce our waste and only use recycled resources as much as possible and we continue working on becoming carbon neutral certified in the future.
