Shrimp on the barbie is an Australian institution. Ever since Paul Hogan invited the rest of the world to join our party, these grilled crustaceans have become one of the most iconic Aussie thing there is - alongside kangaroos and Vegemite.
We think we've taken this iconic meal to a whole new level with Shrimp on the STOV Barbie! The most portable shrimp grilling experience ever.
No more trying your luck with public barbies, or forcing your mate to haul his bulky Weber down to the beach. Shrimp on the STOV can be enjoyed literally anywhere.
So source your tasty shrimp from a local fresh seafood store, buy a sixer of your favourite craft beer and give this recipe a try.
Ingredients:
- 400 grams of shrimps
- A loaf of ciabatta
- 4 garlic cloves
- A small bunch of Italian parsley
- Salt and pepper
- Olive oil
- Birds eye chilli (just if you like it a bit spicy!)
(Serves 2-4)
Directions:
1. De-shell the shrimp (leaving the tail on!).
2. Pre-heat your STOV to be nice and hot. Finely chop the garlic and parsley while you wait.
3. Heat a small fry pan on the STOV, add olive oil and garlic, saute until fragrant. This should take about 30 seconds. Then add parsley and cook for 2-3 minutes.
4. Sprinkel some olive oil on top of the shrimp and put them on the STOV. Fry for about 2 minutes each side (this depends on the size of your shrimp). Oil the bred and chuck on the STOV barbie.
5. Take the shrimp and the bread off your STOV barbie, put on a plate and cover with the sauce.
6. Enjoy on a wild southern beach with your favorite people.
